While working at Duke, he had contributed to the development of several programs in cancer, including Characterizing the Clinical Relevance of an Embryonic Stem Cell Phenotype in Lung Adenocarcinoma. As per Anil Potti MD, lung cancer can be defined as an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in one or both of lungs. Normal lung tissue cells develop and reproduce into healthy tissues, but abnormal cells never grow into the normal lung tissues. As a result of this, lumps of cancer cells are formed, which then disrupts the proper functioning of lungs.
Aside from being a renowned oncologist, he is also a philanthropist, and believes in working for the benefit of disadvantaged and poor through his volunteer efforts. |
